THE TEAM / Beatriz A. Al-Saigh, M.S., LPC-S

I am excited to introduce myself and ready to be of service to you! I am a bilingual therapist who works primarily from a Solution Focused Therapy approach or strengths based point of view.  I have additional training in Narrative Therapy, Multi-Systemic Family Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Evidence-Based Psychotherapy.  All this just means, I first build a working relationship with you by getting to know you and exploring what is important to you.  I ask questions to understand how you arrived at seeking counseling and what in detail you are wanting from counseling. This is all acquired in a non-judgmental manner because I understand we are all different in our beliefs and methods.  Then I break it down to what are your strengths, what have you tried, and help you explore other avenues.  I think the best results in counseling come from a strong relationship with your clients through genuine care and interest, while providing positive support that serves to motivate.

I can proudly say I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 16 years, and over time, I have obtained my designation as a Supervisor.  I completed my graduate education at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and earned a Master of Science Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling.  I take interest in helping individuals control their anger, impulses, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive thoughts or behaviors.  As for couples, I focus on what they want, know the importance of not taking sides, and making the process fun with activities that foster exploration and growth.

Most of my work experience, has focused on children and adolescents who were classified with special needs or a clinical diagnosis.  Many of whom were placed in foster care, treatment facilities or correctional facilities simply because their behavior was out of control.  These children and adolescents suffered from trauma or abuse that resulted in PTSD/anxiety, grief, suicidal ideation, self-destructive behaviors, depression, and substance abuse.  In working to better the outcomes for these children I crossed paths with, I gained over 8 years of experience in intense family counseling.  I honestly loved being instrumental in the process.

I am a qualified and compassionate therapist that is personally motivated, and just as invested as you are, in helping you resolve what brings you to counseling.  My motivation comes from an 8-year intermission from my counseling profession due to a chronic health condition that attempted to steal my career, health, mobility, and literally my voice.  Over the years, I have learned to not only successfully live with it, but more importantly learned to be a passionate advocate for others.  I can honestly say healing and change can take some time, but when you finally examine what you have learned and overcome, it is empowering!  I would be delighted to help you resolve your troubles and live a better life!
